1. LIVE IDEAS ESSAY CONTEST: sponsored by the Primary Text program
The essay contest is sponsored by the Kansas State University Primary Text program. To learn more about Primary Text, click here.
Kansas State University undergraduate students are eligible for this contest. Students do not need to be enrolled in the Primary Text program in order to compete. Additionally, students of all majors, degree tracks, and colleges are invited to submit.
3. DEADLINES AND PROCEDURE.
All submissions are due by 11:59 p.m. on March 15. Submissions are currently open. Contestants should submit their essays through the contest form.
Submissions are not limited by topic. They should reflect a creative blending of academic exploration with colloquial, understandable writing. The contest accepts creative essays, papers, and articles no more than 2500 words.
All documents ought to be attached within this form. Questions can be directed to email@example.com.
4. HOW AND WHEN WINNERS WILL BE SELECTED AND NOTIFIED.
The Live Ideas faculty editorial board will serve as judges for this contest. The entries will be de-identified so that judges do not know the name of the student who wrote each piece.
The entries will be judged on creativity, content, style, and contribution to the academic dialogue. Pieces should meet the ideals of the Live Ideas Journal. For more information on the mission and style of Live Ideas, click here.
The top three essays will receive monetary prizes and publication in the April edition of the Live Ideas Journal. First place will receive $200, second place will receive $100, and third place will receive $50. The prizes are sponsored by the Primary Text Program. Winners can expect communication from Live Ideas and receive their winnings in a check.
The top ten essays will be eligible for publication in the April edition of Live Ideas. Contestants can expect to be notified of their status by April 13.
