Fall Institute

Calling all writers and creators!

“If you hear a voice within you say ‘I cannot paint,’ then by all means paint, and that voice will be silenced.”- Vincent van Gogh

Welcome back from a very strange summer! Our first Fall Institute will be held over ZOOM on the evenings of Sept. 23-25th & 28th with a second session taking place November 11th-13th & 16th. If your application is accepted and you attend each 1 1/2 hour session (held from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. CST), you will receive a $250 scholarship in recognition of your participation. Sessions are mainly peer-to-peer discussion of ongoing ideas and projects with an aim to publishing them in Live Ideas Undergraduate Journal. From Live Ideas editor Suan Sonna: “The Live Ideas institutes are dedicated to cultivating creativity, intellectual growth, and a community of scholars. These institutes will help student develop and perfect their own original works – such as a poem, short story, essay, song, and more! The workshops will be lively, constructive, and collegial!”

This semester is a new experience for everyone, and the perfect time to refine a piece of work you are especially interested in. We hope to see you there!
